Wonderful Family from Pittsburgh!!

Easter Sunday Couldn’t have been a more Beautiful day on the water. Wind was out of the North at 9 knots. Temp was 80 water Visibility was 50 +.  I had a lovely family from Pittsburgh. It was there first trip to the Florida Keys. We stared off our Day Fishing, There three boys caught two Mutton Snapper and some Porgy’s. lost one Mutton due to a over zealous Barracuda. The thing about fishing in the Keys is, you just never know whats going to bight your hook.  After that they enjoyed some Snorkeling at the Carysfort Reef Lighthouse. the water was amazing this day. So Blue and Clear, Like something Straight out of a Hollywood Movie. From there we Traveled Six miles south to The Christ of the Abyss. We were able to secure a mooring ball and our Family was soon experiencing  something few get to see. Located in about 18 feet of Crystal clear water, Stands A statue of Christ. Hands Stretched up to the surface as if he’s  blessing you on the spot. Its truly a awesome sight. We then started for Rodriguez Key for Lunch and Paddle boarding. This leg of the trip is about 9 miles south west of Dry-rocks. Once on the leeward side of the island and anchored down we started lunch and Paddle boarding. Its time to Head home, we start our 45 min ride back through south channel and a curvy system of Mangroves that takes you back in time. Maybe a time that reminds us of what this place used to be, untouched in all of its Nature life and beauty. Its back to the dock and the Buzzards roost where our Family will Hook and Cook there Catch of the day.

Remember until next time! Wind on your back and Sun in your Face.
